About "John Reed - Famine Road - Live in the Studio"
A song about roads to nowhere that were constructed in Ireland through a British government scheme to provide work and a paltry income for people who were starving as a result of the impact of the Great Hunger in the mid-19th century. Whatever they may have earned, there was little or no food available to buy, and many perished by the sides of the roads they helped to build.
