ABOUT
Eva Väljaots is an Estonian folk musician and composer, who plays various types of traditional kannel – an ancient string instrument widespread in Finno-Ugric cultures. She loves to improvise and wander around the borders of various soundscapes, with each kannel opening up a unique world. Modern meets ancient in her music inspired by the present moment as well as her own heritage, ancient tales, and Finno-Ugric musical tradition.
In spring 2022 Eva Väljaots will release her debut album “Hundinuiaõis * Bulrush Bloom”, which presents her self-penned music and the rich sounds of her instruments.
