ABOUT
2ish, the instrumental duo, features Saskia Tomkins on nyckelharpa, viola, and violin, and Brandon Scott Besharah on acoustic fingerstyle guitar and hurdy-gurdy.
Their original compositions contain strong jazz, world, and folk roots elements and have been likened to the music of Michael Hedges, Django Reinhardt, and Stephane Grappelli. Their musical style is sometimes referred to as "Heavy Wood," though it is so much more than that.
Separately, they are master musicians on their instruments; together, their music captivates and enthralls, with the instruments always weaving and dancing together.
Described recently as "Best served live" and "as enjoyable to watch as to listen to," they were also called "A breath of fresh air" by Heather Bambrick.
They have two albums out: "Really," released in 2013, and "Whateva," released in September 2015.
Beautiful, fun, intense, still, joyful.
