The Particles is a rock band founded in 2005 by frontman/singer Ashkan Mashayekhi (aka Ash) and pianist/composer Avesta in Tehran. The Particles have collaborated with German singer/actor Sabrina Becker, guitarist/composer Mirko Michalzik, and singer/lyricist Nayla from London on their debut self-titled album "Voices" in 2012. Songs such as "Crusades," "Fear of the Beast," "I Stand Alone," "Redeem," and "Voices" were featured. In 2012, their single "Taken Away" was released, directed by Fred Khoshtinat. It has earned them thirty nominations and won them seventeen awards in the USA, Canada, and the UK. They were also nominated for Best Rock Artist at the All Indie Music Awards (2012). The Particles have been classified by reviewers and critics as playing within the genres of alternative rock, alternative metal, hard rock, post-grunge, nu metal, gothic rock, and pop rock.
