A Platform for Ethnically and Culturally Inspired Music
ABOUT
The Fringe Sessions are a series of intimate musical performances held over five nights in an idyllic Devon village in the southwest of England around the first week of August.
The Fringe Sessions are held at 'McBuzz’s Barn' - a handsome oak-framed building on the edge of the village of Salcombe Regis at Thorn Park Golf Course, a couple of miles along the coast from Sidmouth. It runs alongside (but independent of) the long-established Sidmouth Folk Festival held down in the town. The Sessions are 'free to all music lovers' and showcase some of the best new and emerging artists from across the UK, along with some local favorites and occasional international touring artists. The event is supported by BBC Introducing (Devon) and has been hosted by BBC Presenter/Producer James Santer in recent years. There is a team of videographers covering the event with a live feed to a big screen on the side of the barn. There is also unplugged filming in locations around the venue by the Croft Sessions during the day.
Live music with 4 acts each night from 7:00 pm until late. There are no 'support acts' or 'headliners'. Just the very best and exciting artists we can find right from the start.
