ABOUT
Terrasonora is a contemporary folk group, and their music is inspired by the traditional music of Campania (an area in South Italy), the content of which is reworked in a more modern key. Terrasonora recounts stories related to their lives, their origins, their social context by using "popular" language (the dialect), which has a strong capacity for communication. Also, from a musical point of view, there is constant reference to the original folk rhythms (of the tammurriata, tarantella) and instruments (tammorra, tamburello, flutes), consciously mixed with rhythms and instruments from other cultures (cajon, darabouka, nay) or other styles (electric bass, keyboards). It is precisely this fusion that is characteristic of the group. Their way then was to enter—without leave—in the tradition of borrowing the language and renewing and extending the expressive potential.
Musicians:
GIOVANNA FARALDO - voice; DAVIDE LAUDIERO - voice; RAFFAELE ESPOSITO - keyboards; ANTONIO ESPOSITO – acoustic bass; GENNARO ESPOSITO - traditional, acoustic guitar and 12 strings; ANTONELLO GAJULLI - percussions; FABIO SORIANO - ethnic winds; MARCO RUGGIERO – sound engineer.
