ABOUT
His name is Pantelis Spirou, and he was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1976. He was into music since he was very young but never took it seriously! He is not a music school graduate; he is self-taught. When he was 16, he participated in rock bands, like most young men did. In November 2015, his first album with the title “Δαιμων Εαυτος Demon Eaftos” was released under the ZEFXIS MUSIC label. The album is self-funded. The first album of Pantelis Spyrou has the title “Δαιμων Εαυτος Demon Eaftos.” It includes seven songs, a result of the composer’s inner search. Through the combination of traditional music and modern timbres, Pantelis Spyrou is presenting a music journey, which describes the course of human life through seven stages. In each stage-song, both a “Demon” and a “demon” of the soul appear and hide at the same time. Finally, they end up in an inner battle, which is narrated in the track titled “Δαιμων Εαυτος Demon Eaftos,” in a music story that is completed with the art in the aesthetic 24-page booklet included in the CD. Pantelis Spyrou is the composer and orchestrator of the songs, as well as the lyrics writer of the song “Δαιμων Εαυτος Demon Eaftos.” The performers, all young and unique, each in their own way, are: Kostas Tzanampetis, Alexandra Ntalarizou, and Ioanna Doglaridou. The lyrics are written by Gianna Siaridou, Marios Pavlidis, and Pelagia Koukidou. Finally, he does not consider himself a musician but a person who wants to externalize primitive emotions through his music. His tzouras, the basic instrument in all the songs, is the means to externalize these feelings.
