ABOUT
Kim has been writing songs and performing, both solo and with various bands, for around 20 years. The first album, released in 2008, entitled 'Songs from the Ugly Meadow', attracted a niche following of primarily pagan/trad-folk music fans with a penchant for nature and literary references. The follow-up album, 'The Hollows', has been 4 years in the making and although some tracks are similar in style to those on the last, 'The Hollows' branches out into an altogether more experimental and eclectic idiom with a more diverse range of instrumentation and an added level of sophistication to the production. Themes remain very much rooted in nature, mysticism, and the arcane.
REVIEW OF STRANGE GARDEN
Strange Garden takes some unpicking, a real 70's acid folk tune; part psychedelia, part pastoral pop, part eastern vibes, part Summer of Love wig-out, yet still holding on to the spirit of traditional folk at its core.
