"When was the last time you heard a band mixing Eastern and Western music, with singing in different languages?"
Komşu is an Istanbul-based group whose band members are young professional musicians with vast experience in the local and international scenes. The band was founded in 2009 by Oğan Şadan.
Komşu is a fresh-sounding band with a strong taste of contemporary Eastern and Western music. Old traditional songs find new life alongside flaming originals, and the music has a strong appeal to get people on the dance floor.
The latest revolutionary generation of young musicians form Komşu. Their music contains original compositions and traditional songs in which a mix of Oriental, Balkan, Middle Eastern, Anatolian, electronic, dance, and improvisation can be heard and illustrate a cultural crossover. An evening with Komşu will dip you in a whirlpool of enchanting Eastern melodies, great rhythms, harmonies, and fun. There is a live spirit in this music and its musicians that we would love to share. Oğan says about Komşu, "This music comprises what we hear, what we feel, and what we love. Memories of tastes, sounds, smells, feelings, images, and stories are what we would like the listener to take home.
