It will be better to start describing the city from where the group took its name, Istanbul. For thousands of years, civilizations have enriched these lands with different cultures. It is possible to experience simultaneously the East and West, South and North in Istanbul.
Our group, Istanbul Acoustic Fusion, continuously feeds from this blend of cultures. We experience the influence of Indian, Turkish, and Middle Eastern ethnic music forms, which touch our hearts deeply. But at the same time, we mold all the ethnic sounds with modern music forms and improvisations. The most important point is that we add our own musical vision and background when playing. Some of the tracks we play are our own compositions, some are traditional melodies, and others belong to well-known composers.
We are formed of four men who search for "the new" on our instruments and musical identities. We are very glad to introduce ourselves to you, music lovers; Irfan Keçebaşoğlu on bass, Mustafa Olgan on qanun, Levent Yıldırım on percussions, and Fahri Karaduman on violin.
