Who needs Glastonbury when Yorkshire's got Galtres?
Now ten years old, Galtres is one of the best family festivals in the country. This year, headliners include The Human League, Tricky, Morcheeba, Levellers, and Bellowhead.
Combining eight stages of music and cabaret, more than 100 fine beers and ciders all from Yorkshire (from Cropton ale to Ampleforth Abbey cider), excellent local produce catering (from Whitby scampi to Yorkshire puds), loads for kids to do from filmmaking to music workshops, and all set in a beautiful and spectacular rural setting overlooking the North York Moors.
Enjoy the best music, plus comedy, theatre, and offbeat performances at the night cabaret, films, family camping, and clean loos too! It's organic, fair trade, and green, and a share of proceeds goes to charity.
The festival guarantees fun for all ages, and this year there's a seaside theme, including Tall Trees Island with a galleon stage, beach, and donkey rides. Whether you choose to become a dancer from Fame, help make giant puppets, or get a selfie with a troll, you will go home having tried something new and with lots to talk about!
