UDJAT Ensemble comprises Sofia Sousa Claro (composer, singer, small percussions), Hugo Claro (composer, Portuguese guitar, mandolin, vocals), and guest artist Jorge Cunha Machado (percussions, overtone singing).
An ensemble inspired by Mediterranean musical heritage, with a repertoire in which we identify the Iberian and Eastern roots, but also the Jewish heritage. Their music, where the voice cohabitates with the Portuguese guitar and percussion, evokes ancestral sounds with a contemporary approach. UDJAT released their first album "Udjat" in 2016, and the second "Ameretat" in the year 2017, with the special participation of the percussionist Hugo Tristão. They are currently recording their third album! Stay tuned!
