ABOUT
Our new group, The Folk Today Project (www.thefolktodayproject.com), is dedicated to putting the message back into today's indie folk music.
Once upon a recent time (the 1960s), folk music was all about the message: protest, values, and issues – like the fact that today almost 50% of U.S. adults are single (NYU Professor Eric Klinenberg interview http://nyti.ms/1JgpS2A).
That's an amazing figure, isn't it?
The Folk Today Project's debut song, "The Reason for Living," questions what's going on there. With a catchy tune, of course, and a fun video (check out our website).
The Folk Today Project is a group of skilled musicians from New Zealand. Welcome back to folk music with a message. Thanks for listening in.
