With her distinct voice and evocative sound, American-born artist and vocalist Seay (pronounced 'say') has gained prominence as both a vocalist and composer. Originating her signature vocals and uplifting music, the beauty of Seay's award-winning artistry touches a universal chord and has drawn listeners from across the globe, releasing 3 critically acclaimed albums in the World New Age genre and airing on several hundred radio, satellite, and syndicated programs.
Born in Charlottesville, Virginia, her formative years were spent playing piano, studying voice, and traveling with her Army family throughout the Far East, Korea, and Japan while her father, a physician, finished his medical residency. Growing up in a Renaissance household, Seay was exposed to the world's cultures for much of her life and later attended the prestigious Sotheby's Art Institute in London with graduate studies in Decorative Art, Languages, and singing with renowned voice coach Helena Shenel. "I feel I am a citizen of the world, and my creativity reflects that." It was while living in England that her music journey began, singing on projects for song publishers Carlin, Motown, Warner Chappell Music, and artists Elaine Paige and Annie Lennox while performing in London's music scene.
Returning to the United States, Seay began developing her own artistic style, honing her skills as a vocalist and songwriter while studying with voice coach Seth Riggs and studying music therapy with Don Campbell. Under her own label, Tuscan Sun Music, Seay released her debut album '1 Voice,' which was named a Top 10 album of the year on the Top 100 World Chart with selections featured on the launch of XM's HD Surround on Finetuning alongside Sting, Ray Charles, Enya, and Norah Jones. Her second album 'A Winter Blessing,' featuring several renowned guest instrumentalists, topped the ZMR Top 100 chart and was named on Mainly Piano's Top 30 albums of the last decade while also being nominated for Best Holiday Album. Her inspirational single and video 'All Around The World,' celebrating those common ties that join us, has been a part of several humanitarian events which include the opening ceremonies of World Peace Day and the theme for Project Peace on Earth's "Love All" Simulcast live from Bethlehem, Palestine, seen by 80 million people for which she is a musical ambassador. Seay is also featured on Project Peace on Earth's 2 Unite All project with Peter Gabriel and Stewart Copeland of the Police, in support of The United Nations World Peace Initiatives. Her music is also a regular addition to several syndicated channels which include Sirius Spa Channel and Music Choice Soundscapes.
Seay's music and voice have also been featured in film, television, and jingles. She has also worked on projects for Annie Lennox, Cher, Elaine Paige, Clay Walker, and Mattel, amongst many others. She currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee, where she continues singing, writing, and creating. Seay is also a voting member of The Grammys, a SESAC-affiliated writer, and a Music Ambassador for Project Peace On Earth.
