We are "Rada & Ternovnik" band from Russia (means Rada & BlackThorn) - psychedelic rock with Russian folk elements with phenomenal Rada's voice (3.5 octaves), combining bel canto with folk intonation and free shamanic improvisations.
"Rada & Ternovnik" is one of the most successful ethno-rock/psychedelic/world music bands in Russia, most famous for chanteuse Rada's phenomenal voice.
Our music is:
- Psychedelic, shoegaze, neo-folk, world music, free jazz.
- Ethnic percussion + extensive electric guitar with different pedals and effects.
- Phenomenal Rada's voice (3.5 octaves) combining bel canto with folk intonation and free improvisations.
- Shaman chants with throat singing elements from percussionist John Kukaryamba.
- A lot of vocals + guitar improvisations.

Rada (singer and songwriter of "Rada & Ternovnik") worked with vocal improvisations in avant-garde and free-jazz projects.
"Rada & Ternovnik" have recorded 15 albums on CD, 2 DVD editions. Some of our tracks were published on CD supplements of magazines "Elegy" (France) and "Audio-Video" (Russia). The best of "Rada & Ternovnik" was published in the leading Russian Hi-Fi magazine "Stereo-Video," available in 35,000 copies in Russia and 6,000 copies in Ukraine. Music of "Rada & Ternovnik" was used in soundtracks of documentary films "The Red Ring" and "Edem of Yuri Negodaev" (about Russian artist Y. Negodaev). "Rada & Ternovnik" also took part in TV shows in Russia.
"Rada & Ternovnik" participated in many rock and folk festivals, both major and independent, and took part in art events such as poetic festivals, the opening of the Culture Centre (Klaipeda, Lithuania), Night of Museums (Moscow), etc. We had many long tours in Siberia, Ural, and Baltic countries and concerts in Germany (Berlin, Munich, Nuremberg), France (Paris), Finland (Helsinki), Ukraine (Kiev), Moldova (Chisinau), Belarus (Minsk), and in 70 cities of Russia.
2013 - CD UKOK - is a recording of the concert program UKOK (live in studio). This CD was recorded by RADA & TERNOVNIK with the famous Altai throat-singer Nohon Shumarov. In September 2013, CD UKOK was in the Top 20 Words Music Charts Europe. In 2014, Rada & Ternovnik won in the nomination Ethnomechanica - Kuryokhin award. UKOK (our CD) - the best world music project! The band took part in the big Ethnomechanica Festival (Saint Petersburg) and won a special prize by Gibson.
The live sound of the group is a blend of vast electronic landscapes with psychedelic guitar solos and ethnic percussion. The group has made a special set of original video recordings to accompany the performance. At "Rada & Ternovnik"'s concerts, the listeners mark the strong emotional influence of music. The band has a great many concerts not only in Moscow but all around Russia.
Songs of the group sound on various radio stations, for example: "Radio Liberté" (France), "Russian Berlin" (Germany), "Radio Naba" (Latvia), "Latvian Radio" (Latvia), "Radio Freedom" (Russia), "Russian Radio" (Russia), "Radio Mayak" (Russia), "Una Larga Pasión" (Argentina), "Ison Live Radio" (Australia), "Radio Karlsruhe" (Germany).
