We are Ogún Afrobeat, Spain’s afrobeat pioneers, a multicultural collective of musicians from Nigeria, Cuba, Spain, Colombia, Morocco, and Italy, led by Nigerian drummer, percussionist, and singer Akinsola.
Our diversity in origins, musical appetites, and languages — with lyrics in Spanish, English, Yoruba, and Arabic — has allowed us to build bridges between musical genres sharing an underlying affinity. From cumbia, gnawa music, neo-soul, rap, to jazz or soul, we have a plethora of musical elements at our disposal, drawn from the melting pot of African music developed in the global diaspora.
Our music has taken us from Spain’s biggest festivals to international stages. Live, we bring an energy that’s impossible to resist—deep grooves, rich melodies, which make it impossible to stand still. See you soon on the dance floor!
