ABOUT
José Quezada Márquez, a classically trained cellist with the Peruvian National Symphony, offers a totally new take on the cello. José transforms the possibilities of this classical instrument by creating a new world music fusion genre that incorporates elements of traditional Peruvian rhythms along with rock and jazz. In his first album, "En Camino," José's compositions celebrate his roots by including elements of Peruvian folk music, using Afro-Peruvian and coastal rhythms as well as Andean dances. The cello still takes center stage, accompanied by acoustic and electric guitars, electric bass and double bass, and a range of percussion instruments like the Peruvian cajón.
His album, 'En Camino', is available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube, Google Play, Deezer, iHeart Radio, and a number of other streaming services.
