ABOUT
Jordy Mako was born in the Republic of Congo under the name of Kongo Bissouekous Münch, where he was raised. He came from a musical family and was influenced early on by his father, a pastor at the Salvation Army who played a little bit of guitar, and his big brother, a choir director. He displayed an early affinity for all types of music. By the age of twelve, he was already proficient in classical music with the church brass band, playing the trumpet. Soon enough, he showed his interest in the keyboard and guitar and had begun composing music. Thereafter, he was playing bass guitar and writing music for his future album. Jordy spent the next few years as a sought-after Congolese studio musician, working with artists like Ya Tatchi, BZS Singers, and Sophia.

In 2004, he joined his friends in Abidjan (Ivory Coast) and spent three years performing with African music stars and playing in live music clubs. After tours, he finally landed in Morocco, a country he loved at first sight and where he lives now. "Living in those countries and meeting such good and great musicians helped me develop my style and music color," he says. "I learned that talent is born from humility, how to believe in myself and in what I do. Then I started thinking about a career."

After spending many years as a performer musician, Jordy Mako focuses on his solo career with the release of his first album "Les droits de l'enfant." He likes to merge styles, combining R&B, jazz, funk, and Afrobeat to help people understand that there is one world and one heart, no borders between nations but one nation with the same father. "I just try to give a signal and message to the world for a better life and love sharing.
