Gustavson Sounds is the record label for the award-winning New York composer and instrumentalist Mark Gustavson. Mark studied music composition with the Cambodian-American composer Chinary Ung, who introduced him to Southeast Asian music. He continued his interest in non-Western music and culture with his composition studies with the Chinese composer Chou Wen-chung and Indonesian music scholar and composer Ton De Leeuw at the Conservatory of Amsterdam on a Fulbright Fellowship.
A native New Yorker, Mark lives on Long Island, where he enjoys time with his wife Pamela and their daughter, riding his bicycle, saltwater fly fishing, and of course, many hours composing music.
