WaCharie

Born Tawanda Chari, WaCharie is a full-time Afro Traditional-Indie Jazz artist of great depth. He performs with his band called Shamwari Dzerwendo. He was once a part of Mazwi, a local band with traditional and Afro jazz fusions. He has amazing vocals, powerful acoustic guitar skills, and is also a composer and songwriter. His lyrics talk about everyday struggles, encouragement, hope, love, morality, and anything else in between. With 3 albums under his belt, WaCharie has performed in almost all of Zimbabwe's big venues and is targeting growth on the international market.

WaCharie is inspired by his great love for music—the cure to all ailments in his life. He is also inspired by the giants in the music industry, both local and international, such as Dr. Oliver Mtukudzi and Lokua Kanza, who are humble pacesetters. He also possesses a deep interest in literature and fine art.
