ABOUT
De Colores" is the new album by the Peruvian musician Raul Huerta. Latin Jazz, Afro-Peruvian music, Nueva Trova, songs mostly in Spanish and also in Swiss-German, plenty of poetry and emotions are the principal and most important elements of this musical work. Raul presents this CD accompanied by an international band, directed by the famous award-winning British music producer Alex Wilson (Rodrigo y Gabriela, Wynton Marsalis, etc.).
After a creative break for a few years, Raul comes back with renewed energy to present his new album to us. 10 titles inspired by deep and important changes in Raul's life—the birth of his children, a difficult separation, faith in love, melancholy about being away from home—and also reflections about death, religion, and marriage. The final result is a varied album with sensitive songs, danceable tracks, Afro-Peruvian rhythms, or just voice and guitar.
Raul Huerta has released 4 albums and has been invited to different festivals such as Paléo Festival de Nyon in Switzerland or many editions of Festival de la Cerveza in Arequipa, Peru. He has also toured around Europe and South America. In 2013, he performed a concert accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of Arequipa; a precious old dream came true.
Directed, arranged, and produced by the well-known British pianist and producer Alex Wilson (who produced the award-winning album "Area 52 CUBA" for the Mexican acoustic guitar duo Rodrigo and Gabriela, and won a World Music prize for his album "Mali Latino"), "De Colores" takes on a new dimension and magnitude; which you can hear in the exceptional sound of this album.
