Ranjan Kumar

Dr. Ranjan Kumar is a master Indian slide guitar player who has created his own unique style of playing based on combining the techniques of Hawaiian guitar, sitar, sarode, and the voice. He is from Bihar and currently resides in Delhi, where he received his PhD in Hindustani Classical Music from Delhi University under the guidance of sitarist Professor Smt. Anupam Mahajan. Before this, he received training from sarod maestro C.L. Das of Patna, Bihar, and sitarist Professor Ravi Sharma at Rohtak University, Haryana. His guitar gurus include Shri Debu Chakraborty of Kolkata, Shri Ajay Sinha, and Shri Samarjit Mukherji.
