ABOUT
Maltese Rock was formed in 1997 by Morito, who writes the music and lyrics. Their base of music activity is the Sakaemachi market of Naha city, Okinawa. Their music absorbs every factor, like punk rock, blues, folk song, gypsy music, Okinawan folk music (Okinawa minyo), etc. Their music lets you feel the deep roots of Okinawa and has a universal expanse. In 2015, the "Downtown Parade" album was released. They've toured not only in Japan but also in foreign cities such as Warsaw, Poland (Feb. 2016), Santiago de Compostela, Spain (WOMEX, the World Music Expo, Oct. 2016), and Taipei, Taiwan (Oct. 2016).
