Lamisi's musical talent was inspired by listening to and following the works of Miriam Makeba, Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, Angelique Kidjo, and many more. Certainly, the choice of the use of local dialect in her lyrics is already setting her apart and deepening her uniqueness as she establishes her brand of music.
She has recently released her maiden album titled, "Brighter Side."
One of the most sensuous voices in Ghana, Lamisi began to manifest the blessing of musical vibes at the tender age of seven. First acquiring experience by joining one of the top groups in Ghana, Patch Bay Band, as lead singer and performing throughout Ghana for eight years. Lamisi is today a prolific singer and an accomplished artist.
Lamisi, after barely a year after releasing her album, has been seen on very reputable stages in Ghana: Stanbic Jazz Festival, Ghana World Music Festival, UNHCR Charity Concert, Panafest, Steel Pulse Live Concert-Ghana, to mention a few, and has also received some nominations in various music awards, for: Female Vocalist of the Year/Songwriter of the Year/Record of the Year - Ghana Music Award, Traditional Artist of the Year - Ghana Arts and Culture Awards, Female Vocalist of the Year - 3 Music Awards.
