ABOUT
Krishna Sharma Das was exposed to many types of music from a very early age. His parents were active classical musicians when he was born in England in 1970. Yet despite receiving basic musical education at home, music didn't become a passion until he discovered guitars at the age of 14, when writing songs and singing in public became his number one interest.
The songs of George Harrison awakened Krishna Sharma's enthusiasm for exotic instruments and mantra meditation, which in turn led him to study the famous classic of spiritual wisdom, the Bhagavad Gita, as presented by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.
As a practitioner and advocate of the timeless yoga of devotion (Bhakti Yoga), he has participated in spiritual communities in the UK, Ireland, and Spain and has often visited the holy land of Krishna in Vrindavan, India.
He received his Sanskrit name upon becoming a student of Srila Hridayananda Das Goswami, a prominent disciple of Prabhupada, a renowned spiritual leader, Sanskrit scholar, and author.
The essence of Bhakti Yoga, according to the Bhagavad Gita, is to act according to one's nature, talents, and desires in a mood of devotion for the Supreme Personal Conscious Being, Krishna. Srila Prabhupada wrote that Krishna has given everyone something extraordinary and to serve Krishna with one's extraordinary talent results in a successful life.
Using a pair of computers which comprise his home studio in Barcelona, Spain, where he lives with his family, Krishna Sharma uses a wide range of instruments and samples, layering instrument upon instrument, to create unique versions of traditional devotional songs written by some of the greatest masters in the bhakti line.
