Ethnos

Based out of Austin, TX, Ethnos aspires to bring music to our listeners that will manifest coexistence, compassion, and playfulness in the lives of those we perform for, along with educating and heightening awareness of both the diversity and similarities of our world's population. We perform improvisation-oriented jazz fusion, inspired by music and music techniques from India, the Middle East, sub-Saharan Africa, and Asia. The group was founded by three musicians in Austin with interests in world music and ethnomusicology. We came up with the name "Ethnos" to highlight our inspiration from people and music around the world.
