ABOUT
Christos Anestopoulos was born in Patras, Greece, in 1971. He started music lessons, particularly guitar, in 1986 under the guidance of Dionisis Sabaziotis. Very soon, he became involved in music composition and presented his first works with his teacher in 1993 at a concert organized by Nikos Touliatos. He engaged in classical guitar and studied the instrument, receiving a diploma with teachers Dionisis Sabaziotis, Rouli Kolokytha, and Dimitris Dimakopoulos. He also completed courses in advanced music theory.

From very early on, he started teaching classical guitar as well as electric guitar. He composed music for dance and cooperated with the dance companies of Tatiana Loverdou in performances at Patras and Athens festivals. He studied electric guitar with teachers Dionisis Sabaziotis, Takis Barberis, Giotis Samaras, and attended several guitar workshops by well-known jazz musicians such as Pat Martino, John Scofield, John Abercrombie, and Markos Alexiou. His relationship with jazz music started very early, and he often created and participated in trio and quartet bands performing in Greece and cooperating with musicians like Eivind Aarset, David Lynch, Nikos Touliatos, Natassa Mare Moumtzidou, Vasilis Podaras, George Daravelis, George Metaxas, Vasilis Stefanopoulos, Sotiris Douvas, and many others.

His relationship with classical and modern music has always been strong, and he created the Orange Trio (violin-cello-guitar) and the duo Diadromes (En Routes Duo) (sax-guitar) with composer and teacher George Daravellis. Moreover, he has performed concerts with his own music at festivals such as the Patras Festival, Ladonas, Elefsinas, Aishylia Festival, and Soundtrope Festival. His first album, 'Swinging over the Surfaces,' was released in 2003, and his second one, titled 'Wish You Could Stay,' in 2014, featured David Lynch, George Daravelis, Vasilis Stefanopoulos, and many musicians from all over Greece. In 2016, he cooperated with drummer Nikos Touliatos and toured Greece with a new duo project based on free improvisation and experimental music, with guests like Natassa Mare Moumtzidou on vocals and Giannis Panagiotopoulos on lyra. The same year, he presented the album "Wish You Could Stay…" live on tour with David Lynch, Vasilis Stefanopoulos, and Vasilis Podaras. In 2017, he cooperated with dancer and choreographer Yannis Adoniou and presented a duo project live on tour based on guitar electronics, FX, computer music, and dance.
