Caribbo
The eclectic and colorful music of Caribbo is based on Surinamese rhythms, with a touch of jazz.
Drummer Harvey Wirht (Angelique Kidjo, Hassan Hakmoun) and keyboardist Etienne Stadwijk (Richard Bona, Brooklyn Funk Essentials), both from Suriname, are joined by renowned steel panist Andy Narell, vocalist Philip Hamilton (Pat Metheny, Spyro Gyra), and bassist Ron Reid (The Caribbean Jazz Project, Antonio Hart). The band is often enhanced by traditional percussionists and will definitely put you in ecstasy with their kawina and kaseko rhythms from Suriname.
