El grupo extremeño formado en 1999 se encuentra entre los 15 semifinalistas de la XII Edición de los Premios de la Música Independiente (MIN) 2020 en la categoría de Mejor Álbum de Músicas del Mundo y Fusión con “COMO SIEMPRE LO HEMOS HECHO 20 ANIVERSARIO – Venti añus un son ná”.

El grupo, que también ha conseguido estar nominado en las categorías de Mejor Artista, Mejor Canción y Mejor Producción Musical, vive esta oportunidad como un privilegio, un honor único que no está al alcance de cualquiera y que les provoca una inmensa alegría por el reconocimiento musical que supone para su trayectoria en el mundo de la música.

En sus discos, “DESDE EL AMBROZ A NUESTRA MANERA” (2002), “NO ES MALA LEÑA” (2005), “A MENOS CUARTO” (2011) y “COMO SIEMPRE LO HEMOS HECHO. 20 ANIVERSARIO” (2019) han asumido el compromiso y la responsabilidad de convertirse en embajadores de la música tradicional, abogando por hacer que esta, lejos de caer en el olvido, llegue a un público más amplio, sea cual sea su edad, de manera que los más mayores sigan disfrutando de su legado cultural y musical y los más jóvenes conozcan y experimenten el sinfín de sensaciones que este tipo de música les puede hacer sentir.

En el disco al que deben estar entre los 15 mejores álbumes nacionales de músicas del mundo y fusión, “COMO SIEMPRE LO HEMOS HECHO 20 ANIVERSARIO”, defienden con orgullo su título como uno de los mejores grupos dedicados a la música de raíz, mezclando ritmos étnicos con pinceladas de folk sinfónico y progresivo.

No solo hacen música, hacen cultura; la defienden, conservan y difunden, y esto es algo que muy pocos logran. Hablar de Aulaga Folk, es hablar de un grupo que siente la música desde la raíz y que transmite emociones capaces de llegar a los cinco sentidos. Lo único que se les puede pedir es que sigan haciéndolo como siempre lo han hecho.

Los extremeños AULAGA FOLK han sido galardonados en los V Premios de la Música Extremeña en la modalidad Raíces 2011, la entrega de los premios organizados por Extremeña Sonora y La Carne Magazine ha tenido lugar en la Sala Boogaloo en Cáceres el 05 de diciembre del 2013.

Junto al galardonado Aulaga Folk han sido nominados a estos premios Manantial Folk, Berezo Folk, Anhinojo Folk, Efecto Verdolaga y Scath.

Aulaga Folk quiere dar las gracias a la organización y a todas las personas que con su trabajo y dedicación hacen posible la entrega de los premios mas importantes de la música extremeña.

Queremos transmitir nuestra mas sincera felicitación al resto de grupos que han sido nominados en esta final y a todos los que no han podido estar en ella, porque a esta tierra y en esta tierra lo que sobra es cantidad y calidad en los grupos de música folk y de raíz que nos representan por todos los rincones donde huele a cultura y a tradición, gracias a todos por hacer que Extremadura se sienta y se palpe por todos y cada uno los festivales de la Península y del mundo tradicional, nos sentimos orgullosos de ser y de sentir lo que somos, extremeños.

Aulaga Folk's third CD, A Menos Cuarto, (A Quarter 'Til) proves that there's also great eurotrad music from Spain. It's a very satisfying album for song-lovers; you'll hear drinking songs ("La Uva"), dancing songs ("Reeguedoble"), love songs ("Esta Noche Vengo Solo"), and juiced-up dance tunes. You'll also hear some great old ballads, notably "Gerineldo," which is sort of the Spanish "Matty Groves." The group's soulful vocals are backed by guitars, flutes, fiddle, accordion, bouzouki, lots of percussion, and a full rock band of bass, drums and keys to boot. Needless to say, they have a big, complex sound. If that weren't enough, they're augmented on most tracks by guest artists such as Manuel Luna (voice and guitar), Joaquin Diaz (voice), Javier Ruibal (voice and guitar), Eliseo Parra (percussion) and Mariquelo (pipe and tabor), some of whom are among Spain's best-known folk musicians. In their strong Spanish roots, their rumbling percussion, their complex arrangements, and their extensive use of guests, Aulaga Folk remind me of fellow SpaniardsLa Musgaña, whose career I have followed for many years -- except that they incorporate more elements of rock, pop, and Celtic music, and their repertoire is focused on songs rather than instrumentals, both of which are all to the good. The disc comes with a booklet containing lyrics to all the songs, extensive credits to all the performers, and photos. The package also includes a DVD containing several music videos, and a demo disc containing nice scratch versions of some of their collaborations. In all, it's a beautiful package that includes some wonderful music.
