Stereossauro

Stereossauro, a DJ/producer from Portugal, is an expert in turntablism (2x IDA World Scratch Champion with my crew "Beatbombers"). Coming from a hip-hop background, I always searched for new styles of music and started to sample and collect world music in 1995. My work uses mostly traditional Fado, fused with contemporary hip-hop sounds. The skills that I acquired in the hip-hop "formation" allow me to remix and recreate songs live. It's a performance with scratch and live finger drumming on the MPC sampler. Being a party DJ, I naturally reach out to other styles of world and dance music. Rhythms from Brazil, India, and the Midwest meet melodies from Portuguese Fado, etc. The road is endless, so I keep searching for the perfect beat!
