ABOUT
His real name is Armand Noël Ntoungchi Kamtchoua, or rather Nda Chi, his artist name. Nda Chi is a young versatile artist from western Cameroon, more precisely from Baleng, where he was born on December 23, 1997, and where he currently lives. An ethnomusician, he is at the same time a singer, songwriter, performer, choreographer, dancer, xylophonist, percussionist, kalimba/mbira player, and photo model.

During his early childhood, Nda Chi was influenced by artists such as Anne Marie Nzié, Kareyce Fotso, Nkodo Sitony, Nina Simone, Claude Ndam, James Brown, and Manu Dibango. His music is a musical fusion because he adds to African rhythms and sounds, more precisely Cameroonian, or to African folk music, elements of other currents such as blues, jazz, soul, pop, rock, gospel, reggae, new age... all these elements associated with traditional music give an Afro Folk Fusion.

Almost self-taught in singing and a very young fan of ethnic music, he made his debut by approaching ethnomusicians, folk singers, and also flirting with musical groups and choirs from an early age. During his secondary studies, he discovered the heritage dance troupe of the University of Dschang and discovered another passion, dance. Nda Chi evolves in different dance companies and is spotted by Ayissi Leduc, who makes him the choreographer of his company "Otitié" Étoile du Cameroun. Nda Chi creates his dance group "Modern Afro Soul" with his partner Ariane Domguia, alias Mimi. The two partners make dance videos appreciated by stars like Lady Ponce, Locko, Coco Argentée, Ko-C.

At the same time, Nda Chi had already done a few photo modeling sessions and participated in a casting for "Les Anges de Calmette," which also revealed his potential for photography. For a few years, he posed for photographers and joined modeling agencies (Ti'agency, Western Pic) as a model. Several times winner of university games alongside the Fan's Club of the University of Dschang, Nda Chi participates and wins prizes at the national festival of arts and culture with the regional ballet of the west. He has also shared many school singing competitions, holiday concepts like ShowTime Holidays.

His dream being to return to his first passion for singing, he began his professional music career in 2018 with a single entitled "Dis Moi," which was rather well received by the critics. Then, Nda Chi participates in and wins the national song contest "MützigStar" in 2019. Following this, he released an album entitled "Ngi Ngun," which, thanks to his being nominated in the category of revelation of the year at the Balafon Music Awards, wins the prize for best album at the Visartculture Ouest Awards. He works hard and aspires to become "the modern pope of African culture and folk music." He has been nicknamed in his country the "keeper of traditions.
