Malotira

Malotira is a traditional Mediterranean and Balkan band playing music of the regions, giving value and visibility to their shared cultures and diversity. Since their formation in Lisbon in 2020, Malotira has performed across Portugal in theaters and festivals, including the Cinema São Jorge (Olhares do Mediterrâneo festival) and the Day of the Mediterranean festival. With their unique instrumentation, captivating voice, and vibrant traditional dances, Malotira performs a repertoire of songs from the Greek, Italian, Slavic, and Romani traditions. Sung in multiple languages and dialects, the band creates a powerful fusion that shows how music can create new dialogue and cultural exchange through music.
