Dimitris Sideris

Born and raised in Athens with classical guitar studies, he moved to Crete where he got involved with Cretan lute performance and participated in various traditional concerts and festivities with prominent artists of the island. Currently, he is conducting a PhD at the University of Crete, focusing on "Cretan musical identity," and makes music as a member of the groups Daulute and Babel, as well as a solo performer. He is also the designer and maker of the first electric lute, based on the Cretan traditional instrument.
