Dr. Ahmet Kaya was born in 1968 in Erzurum, Turkey. He still continues his active medical profession in Istanbul. While he was a student at the University of Hacettepe Faculty of Medicine in 1988, he took part in the establishment of KOMA AMED, one of the first Kurdish music groups, with his friends who came together under the leadership of Fikri Kutlay and Evdilmelik Şêxbekir. He contributed to Koma AMED's albums Kulilka Azadi, Agir û Mirov, and Derguş as a singer, compiler, and composer. After the breakup of Koma Amed, he took part in the albums Sî, Mak, and Zîz of the Çar Newa group, which was established in Germany in 2000.
While continuing to produce music individually after the group work ended in 2011, Dr. Ahmet Kaya made contributions to Mehmet Akbaş's PIA (2012), Ji Bo Bîranîna Bro Omeri's - PEŞK (2015), Fikri Kutlay Songs (2016), Agit Işık's Lorîna Sibê (2015), and Hez (2020), Rewşan Çeliker's TOV (2020), and Tara Mamedova's Xewna Giran (2021) as a songwriter, composer, and singer.
In memory of the health workers who lost their lives during the pandemic period in 2020, he composed a part of Nazım Hikmet's poem "Yaşamaya Dair (On Living)" for the Health Workers' Union (SES) with the name "Bildiğin Halde (As You Know It)" and sang it with his colleague Dr. Yelda Emek.
He composed the poem "Wê Êvarê" by Cemil Denli and published it on the YouTube platform in 2021 with the voice of Agit Işık.
In 2020, he started recording the album Payîza Derengî (Late Autumn) together with Mustafa Biber, who previously worked as an arranger in Koma Amed's Derguş, Çarnewa's "Sî" and "Zîz" albums, and made many award-winning soundtracks. In addition to the poems of İbrahim Seydo Aydoğan, Fêrikê Ûsiv, Cemil Denli, and Agit Işık, there are also 4 songs written by Dr. Ahmet Kaya of a total of 13 songs. Apart from the folk song of the Erzurum region called “Çillê lê”, other songs are his own compositions.
In the album, Hakan Gürbüz arranged "Şîlanên Beyro" and Harun Ataman arranged the song "Were kawkûbara min".
Enriched with the voices of Agit Işık, Mehmet Akbaş, Mustafa Biber, Rewşan Çeliker, Siyabend Aslan, Tara Mamedova, and Zelal Gökçe.
