ABOUT
Over the last 17 years, the group "AVESTO" has been one of the leading ethno-jazz bands, not only in Tajikistan but also in Central Asia and Kazakhstan. Working in different genres and always experimenting, the ethno-jazz-rock group "AVESTO" builds on the rich heritage of old Tajik national music. In their creativity, the musicians synthesize modern jazz music with Eastern ethnic music culture. The main directions are "Fusion," "Ethno-jazz-rock," and "Free Jazz." The beautiful, unique voice of soloist Tahmina Ramazanova, oriental melodies, and improvisations of the musicians create the original image of the group. During its work, the group has recorded and released 6 solo albums. In 1999, "AVESTO" was invited as honored guests at the International Festival "Voice of Asia," which is annually held in Almaty, Kazakhstan. In 2001, "AVESTO" wrote and produced a CD with the company "DOUBLE MOON RECORDS" in Germany, which has been distributed in all European countries (Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Holland, France, Belgium, etc.). From 2005 to 2008, Avesto repeatedly performed exclusive solo concerts in cities such as Tashkent, Uzbekistan; Ashgabat, Turkmenistan; Almaty, Kazakhstan; Moscow, and Tver in the Russian Federation. In 2009, the group "AVESTO" brilliantly performed at the IVth International Jazz Festival in Kyrgyzstan, "Jazz Bishkek Spring," where they won the second prize in the contest for the best jazz composition in the style of ethno-jazz with "The Image of Nasreddin Hodja." In 2009, "AVESTO" also successfully performed at the I Dushanbe Jazz Festival.
