He studied composition and arrangements at the Modern School of Music, graduating with maximum distinction in 1995. In 2011, he received the National Music Award "President of the Republic" for his work developing Chilean music productions. In 2015, he completed the postgraduate specialization in Composition, and in 2017, he completed the Master of Arts in Composition, both at the University of Chile.
He has composed and produced 23 albums between 1989 and 2024. He has scored for TV programs, documentaries, films, theater, ballet, and big events. In November 2023, he composed and produced the music for the closing ceremonies of the Pan American and Para-Pan American Olympic Games. Within his compositions, we can find piano and other solo instruments, acoustic and mixed ensembles, chamber and symphonic orchestras, choir, electronic, folk, ethnic, and rock instrumentation.
He is regularly touring in Chile, South and North America, Europe, and other territories with his “Subhira Quintet.”
In 1993, he founded the MUNDOVIVO label, which has released more than 100 albums from 30 world music and folk bands.
He produces the “World Music Festival” of Santiago (Chile), now in its 23rd edition. (www.mundovivo.cl)
He produces and conducts the open-air radio program "Mundovivo, Música para Vivir Mejor" (www.adn.cl, 40,000 people audience a week).
