ABOUT

Najib MAFTAH is a Lyonnais artist of Moroccan origin. Arriving in France in 2001 to continue his studies, music was his refuge from loneliness and uprooting. His Folk Rock style sung in Arabic with a progressive touch is inspired by musicians such as Cat Stevens, Chris Cornell and David Guilmour. Like Idir or Souad Massi, he loves to create complicity between Western music and that of the Maghreb and the East. His flagship project Najib MAFTAH & Friends offers very melodic and melancholy music, but always bright and full of hope.
