A Platform for Ethnically and Culturally Inspired Music
About "Mare Vostrum | Senyoreta"
In the centre of the Anatolia region, in Konya province, there exists the Aşık tradition, the troubadour whose song is accompanied by the Baglama and based on a quite unique binary rhythm. The story of the Aşık tradition picks up around the 7th Century AD and is born of the Anatolian, Azerbaijani and Iranian shaman tradition. These cultures would often dedicate their songs to nature in order to receive protection. Senyoreta -'Dragonfly'- is our very own summons to this mysterious creature, which has given rise to so much mythology the world over.
