Giir Mou Athuai, a.k.a. Lil Meek DC, is a South Sudanese-born, Uganda-based musician, rapper, singer, and songwriter. He was born in Thiet, a town in Tonj State, South Sudan. Early Life and Education Growing up in Thiet Town, Tonj State, South Sudan, Lil Meek DC experienced war and displacement early on. He moved to Uganda, where he started his education and music journey. His older brother, Slate Nation, mentored him and helped him become a better musician. Career In 2019, he stepped into the music scene in Uganda and made a name for himself as a battle rapper. His first single, 'His Pain,' struck a chord with fans by addressing personal struggles. Lil Meek DC released his first album, 'Lost and Found,' in 2022, followed by 'Life is Pain' that same year. He performed at the Hot211 Awards, giving a heartfelt and genuine performance that won over the crowd. Musical Style and Influence His music mixes hip-hop, Afrobeat, and R&B, with lyrics about struggle, identity, and strength. Lil Meek DC draws from his life experiences and aims to motivate others facing similar hardships. Personal Life Lil Meek DC pushes for social justice, peace, and education in South Sudan.
