BUT.....what are jalebis? What?!  You do not know? :)

Here is some quick information!  A "jalebi" is a sweet popular in countries of the Indian Subcontinent such as India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bangladesh as well as many other countries in the Middle East and North Africa, like Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco. Jalebis are made by deep-frying a wheat-flour (Maida flour) batter in pretzel or circular shapes, which are then soaked in sugar syrup.

The sweets are served warm or cold. They have a somewhat chewy texture with a crystallized sugary exterior coating. Citric acidor lime juice is sometimes added to the syrup, as well as rosewater or other flavours such as kewra water.

In fact one of our songs ...."Go - Go Govinda" is in honor of Sri Govinda which is another transcendental name for Sri Krsna.

“Govinda” (Sanskrit: गोविन्द) is a name for the Hindu deity, Krishna. Go can refer to cows, land, or one's senses. Vinda means "protector". When the two words are combined, Govinda means Krishna who is the protector of the cows, the land, and/or one's senses. Here below is a lovely picture of one of the cows at the Care For Cows sanctuary in Vrndavana, India eating a delicious jalebi (a famous Indian sweet) and listening to  our song "Go- Go Govinda"!  Care for Cows is a network of international volunteers dedicated to awareness, education and action regarding cow protection (go raksha) as taught in the Vedic scriptures.  JALEBI Music is honored to have contributed to helping keep at least one of their cows happy! :))
