ABOUT
I am Nintai Elfrida Chunyui, born in Ndop, Ngoketunjia Division, on the 15th of September 1983 at 2:53 pm. I virtually grew up in the Full Gospel Mission after having received Christ at the age of 10 in the same mission. For over eighteen years, I have served as a singer in this same mission and even had the privilege to be the youth choir leader and assistant choir leader in Cow-fence assembly, Limbe, where I still currently serve.
As concerns my educational life, I started school in my village called Babungo at the age of six and acquired my First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) there. My dad, who was my sole sponsor, passed away three years after my birth, leaving my education entirely in the hands of my mom, who only struggled to see me through primary school education. Due to persistent financial hardship, she couldn't sponsor my education at the secondary level. My elder brother, Nintai William, who is of blessed memory, then took me to Douala and sponsored me for just a few years at secondary school, and I had to drop out of school because he also passed away. I then learned sewing for a brief period of time and moved in with my adoptive parents, Rev. Godswill Chongsi and Beri Chongsi, soon after meeting them. Under their auspices, I went back to an evening school where I obtained my "Ordinary Level Certificate" and "Advanced Level Certificate" in 2010 and 2011, respectively. The famous University of Yaoundé Ngoa-Ekelle admitted me to do a degree course in cinematography, which I abandoned after a year of studies in order to be with my husband, Fon Daniel, whom I married in April 2012. The Lord has blessed us with two beautiful girls, Carol Anointed Fon and Peculiar Fon. My artist name, Frida Fon, was shaped by this union. It is the last girl, Peculiar Fon, whose testimony is the story behind this single. Peculiar has known severe health challenges and got miraculously healed by the Lord at the moment of the composition of this song. She has been carried as a newborn for so long and has literally lived on medication all this while. She walked only a few months ago at the age of two and a half due to ill health. The Lord has seen her through the valley of the shadow of death, the waters, and the fire, and today she is a proud pre-nursery school girl with a school bag on her back, in her school uniform, and on her feet to school. The Lord has been good to us as medical practitioners had literally given up on her. This single is a song of gratitude and an encouragement to those going through similar difficulties. Peculiar is a testimony affirming the fact that He who has promised is faithful.
