Duo Hyperborea

Duo Hyperborea (Helena MacGilp and Chris Elmes) performs a diverse range of music, mostly from older traditions from the Balkans, Turkey, Iran, and the Middle East, in a culturally informed style. They explore the universal themes that run through the music while respecting the cultural heritage of the music. The pieces they perform complement and enhance each other, celebrating the similarities and differences of the cultures to which the music belongs.
