ABOUT
Apostolos Sideris is a bassist and composer from Greece who, after a number of years in NYC, is currently living in Istanbul.
He has performed with a number of artists from the World Music scene such as Ara Dinkjian and Ziad Rahbani, to jazz masters such as Seamus Blake, Clarence Penn, and Leo Genovese.
In the fall of 2019, his first album entitled "Summation" was released by Fresh Sound Records. It showcased Apostolos as a leader of a World-Jazz unit, with the participation of Argentinian-American pianist Leo Genovese. His new album (released on 2/2/22) is called "Hane." It was a project that came about during the quarantines of this past year and a half and it shows a different side of the composer, with the total stylistic freedom he gave himself. It is a project where the sounds of the Middle East and the Balkans meet Jazz and Funk, even avant-garde music.
