To follow "Jungle waltz" as a second part, High on the Atlas is a tribute to Moroccan popular music which has been such a great inspiration for my music since I lived there for 5 years in Marrakesh in the 70s. It is built on the fast 6 beat most popular Moroccan folk rhythm, exploring all the rhythmic variation that it provides. Moroccan traditional percussion are widely represented while the Djembe solo that open the piece is improvised by producer and percussion wizard Steve Shehan (Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, John McLaughlin, etc.)
