About "Intro Oud / Ya Salaam"
Composed and arranged and Oud by Anello Capuano.

In this version "Ya Salaam" is preceded by a Taqsim, or an improvised ad lib intro played by the Middle_Eastern Oud.

"Ya Salaam" is an African oriented tune in three distinct movements with Middle Eastern and jazz influences, featuring the Middle Eastern Oud, the accordion, the flute, various saxes, the electric bass and various African and Middle-Eastern percussion.
This track doesn't uses samples and all the instruments are played by some of the best world musicians in Paris, and was recorded there at the beginning of this century.
In Arabic Ya Salaam means "Oh, Peace!" wishing that this world may live in peace. It is sung in the first movement where the same wish is then also expressed in Hebrew, a prayer towards the tragedy that is actually taken place right now in Palestine.

The track ends with a note of hope through an up-beat, festive and exhilarating improvised sequence by all the musicians in turn.
