Earlier this month, fans of Ali Hugo's instrumental music and songs from his Afrodisiac album discovered that Hugo's work had been taken down from online music retailers and streaming services. Some of Hugo's back catalog songs aren't available for streaming or buying since the Hugo team decided not to extend the UnitedMasters distribution agreement when Hugo's contract came up for renewal.
Hugo, who has signed onto Intercept/Ingrooves/ Virgin Records, stated, "My team at belief records and I had a meeting and decided not to renew the deal simply because it did not make sense any longer to maintain a relationship with two record labels at once." This choice can be interpreted as a form of forward integration.
Hugo expressed regret to his followers for any difficulty caused and stated, "We hope to make the necessary corrections as soon as possible so that fans can carry on enjoying Ali Hugo's music."
Some of the songs from Ali Hugo's devotional album "Hope for The Meek," which is a favorite among fans in Europe, particularly Germany, are among the music that are presently unavailable.
Sentric Music, Hugo's publisher, continues to oversee "The Ali Hugo's Music Catalog" in terms of publication for the music for which UnitedMasters has received a takedown notice. Everything is going as normal.
Hugo is currently enjoying the success of his latest endeavor, "I Gotcha Covered,"
