The piece is in memory of my great friend, an incredible performer of the Bulgarian folk instrument gadulka - Yordan Kamenov from the town of Trastenik. This is the kind of music we played at the Pleven Music School "Panayot Pipkov"

Vladimir Velichkov completed his secondary education at Panayot Pipkov National University of Pleven in 1988.
Higher education at AMTII "Asen Diamandiev", Plovdiv, specialty "Kaval and conducting of folk ensembles" in 1996.
From 1996-2013 he taught kaval and chamber ensembles at the Music Academy.
Since 2015 taught at the "Paisii Hilendarski" Polytechnic, chamber ensembles and theoretical disciplines.
He completed his master's degree at Veliko Tarnovo University "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" with the specialty "ART Management", as an excellent graduate with a diploma and a gold medal.
From 2020 teaches kaval, chamber ensembles and orchestra at Panayot Pipkov National University, Pleven
In 2021 is defending a doctoral degree on the topic - "The art of kavala - tradition and modernity"

- 2024 - The album "Awakening" wins the award of the "ACADEMY" - Los Angeles for Album in the category "Best World Beat Album"
- 2023 Proposed Grammy nomination by "Ethnocloud" in the category: "Contemporary Instrumental Album" for the 24th Grammy. Los Angeles
- 2023 He produced and released an author's solo album "Awakening", in which he combines and demonstrates traditional and modern technical techniques in playing the kaval.
Conducted the first online seminar of its kind in the world on "The Art of Kabbalah, Tradition and Modernity". Riders from Bulgaria, USA, Australia, Canada, Poland, Turkey, Serbia, Macedonia are participating. The project was implemented with the support of the management of PU "Paisiy Hilendarski"
He was invited by the director Andrey Chertov to participate in the film about the guitarist Ognyan Videv "One Rainy Day", in which Milcho Leviev, Ivo Papazov, Maya Novoselska and others take part. The film won the "Plovdiv" award at the "Golden Riton" festival
He publishes an author's collection-textbook "Pieces for Kaval and Piano", and several of his compositions are included in the matriculation exam for bachelors and masters.
The professional path of Peyo Peev began with the Children's and Youth Ensemble "Zagorche" in Stara Zagora. In 1994, he graduated from the "Philip Koutev" Music School in Kotel with a major in gadulka. He continued his education at the Academy of Music, Dance and Visual Arts in Plovdiv, majoring in "Conducting Folk Ensembles" and graduated in 1999. In 2017, he defended his master's degree in "Performing Art" and in 2023, his PhD .
In 1997-1999 he was part of the orchestra of the National Folklore Ensemble "Filip Kutev". Since 2000, he has been a soloist-orchestrator, and now also a group leader in the Folk Music Orchestra of the BNR. Since 2017, he has been teaching at AMTII "Asen Diamandiev" Plovdiv. He participated in concert tours in Europe, America, Japan, Hong Kong, Israel, etc.
He is the author of the music for the performances "Click", "Dance of the Wind" and "5×5+1", as well as a large number of arrangements for BNR and leading folk performers.
Vladi Petrov has been a timpanist and percussionist with the Bruckner
Orchestra Linz since 2009. He was born in Bulgaria in 1986 and began taking
percussion lessons from Simeon Serafimov at the age of nine. He later
studied drumset and jazz vibraphone with Hristo Yocov at the National Music
Academy 'Pantcho Vladigerov' in Sofia, Bulgaria. In 2006 he began his
studies at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz with Prof. Leonhard
Schmidinger for percussion and Prof. Bogdan Bacanu for marimba and
graduated with first class honours.
Vladi has been awarded multiple prizes in various international percussion
competitions.
Numerous tours have taken Vladi to Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, China,
France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Romania, Russia, Spain, the
Netherlands and the USA as a marimba and percussion soloist, in chamber
music ensembles and as an orchestral musician.
As a member of the "Wave Marimba Quartet" he has recorded numerous
CDs for the Classic Concert, Genuin Classics and Sony Classical record
labels among others.
