ABOUT
Vick and Zhana are performing at festivals in different locations, including medieval castles, old Istrian towns, national parks, and other venues. The theme is Australian-Aboriginal Dreamtime traditional music, played on the didgeridoo and percussions, and applied to firstly authentic traditional sound as well as classical Renaissance music and more contemporary original songs. In addition, Zhana is telling stories, especially suited for kids and grown-ups, in Croatian and English where required. Translations are available in German, Italian, and Slovenian with Zhana’s original illustrations to facilitate a quick understanding of the story. The program lasts about an hour and features a perfect interchange of music and stories, which has been widely greeted by the public. The program is suited for galleries, museums, schools, and the above-mentioned locations. If this is of some interest, please contact Vick on +385 1616 366 or Zhana on +385 1616 077, or by email. Our fee is 500 €, with accommodation and transport added, depending on the location. There is a possibility of playing an after-party on the didgeridoo and percussions, and the links are on the webpage. VICK’S BIO He is a drummer, didgeridoo player, singer, and songwriter based out of Brisbane, Australia, and currently residing in Croatia. He has been playing with bands and DJs in Australia and, for the past four years, in Croatia. As a drummer, he has performed with the female rock band Diva Demolition in Australia, Egypt, the UAE, Croatia, and Serbia (there is a video made in Dubai on my webpage). Playing the didgeridoo has been his passion for a long time. Since he lived and worked in Australia for 20 years, he had the chance to learn from great Aboriginal didgeridoo players who have given him insight and a feel for what it is all about. What he is really focused on at the moment is combining the ancient sounds of the Australian didgeridoo with Renaissance music, pop, and even electronic music (house, tribal, techno). The didgeridoo's natural vibration and organic sound make people get up and dance. The only way to really incorporate the didgeridoo into various modern styles is to write music around the didgeridoo – not trying to play the didgeridoo around other people's music. So, he and his wife Zhana decided to make music around the didgeridoo. She writes lyrics, and he makes music with a little help from his friends. She finds it necessary to understand and pass on Aboriginal care towards Mother Earth and all living beings. The way she tells the stories about the Aboriginal way of life and legends shifts listeners, both kids and adults, into a time before ours, the Dreamtime.
