ABOUT
Riya Volkova is a musician and composer from Russia. She lives in Zelenograd, not far from Moscow. She researches the North and cultural variety of northern people and plays the kantele, singing songs in dying languages, mostly in Karelian dialects. Her song has represented Karelia in the international project "Les Origines de la Beauté." She also writes her own texts in Russian and English. Due to electronic shamanic sounds and the play of bass guitarist Anton Volkov, ancient themes become new and fresh.
