As I ask this question, who will respond?
Tā te rangatira he kōrero, tā te ware he muhukai
For the food of Chiefs is disscussion, but for the commoner it is inattentiveness.
Ko te wai Māori, ehara i te mana tangata.
For it is not for Man to claim dominion over Water.

Te Reinga, rerenga wairua, he hui hui nga moana
It is at Te Reinga, were the Spirits depart, and where Oceans meet.
Ka ōrua te wai, me he whai āi pō e tangi nei
The Sea is rough, and the Water rumbles, like the heart that yearns for its lover.
Ka tahuna te Ahipara, he kura tangata.
The sacred fires burn, there stands the pou whenua, a symbol of significance to its people.
Ka kīa i reira, kua kapi katoa i te aroha.
There it is said, stands an alter that has been covered with love.
